LIC's Female Critical Illness Benefit Rider is an Individual, Non-Linked, Health rider. It is designed exclusively for female policyholders. A strict rule for this rider is that it shall only be attached at the inception of the base policy to a non-linked product. It operates as a diagnosis or surgery-based benefit including pregnancy and child-related conditions, meaning a fixed lump sum benefit is payable if the Life Assured is diagnosed with a specified illness, undergoes a specified surgery, faces pregnancy complications, or if their child is diagnosed with congenital anomalies.
This rider offers the flexibility to choose one or a combination of three distinct modules:
This module covers Early Stage Cancer, Carcinoma-in-situ, and Major Stage Cancer.
This module covers specific surgeries and illnesses.
This module covers specific maternal and newborn risks.
The benefits under this rider are provided as a lump sum payout based strictly on the module structure. Multiple claims are allowed under Modules 1 and 2 (for example, receiving a minor claim first and a major claim later), but the module will terminate once 100% of its Sum Assured is paid out. Module 3 allows one claim for pregnancy and one claim for congenital anomalies, terminating on payment of 200% of its Sum Assured. Each module terminates once its maximum payout (100% or 200% as applicable) is reached.
